Where Are We? – Where have we Been? 


Antarctica – onboard the Bark Europa – Jan 12th to Feb 6th – Completed.    

A truly incredible journey sailing to the bottom of the earth to visit the world’s last untouched wilderness on a three masted Tallship as part of the crew. It doesn’t get any better

Patagonia -Feb 7th to Feb 18th – Completed.

From Ushuaia in Argentina to El Calafete, El Chalten, Torres Del Paine, Porta Natales & Punta Arenas. 

Brazil – Feb 19th to Mar 3rd – Completed.

From Buenos Aries to Rio then Iguassa Falls & Carnavale to finish off seven weeks of adventure. Wow what a trip  

June 9th to July 24th – Alaska – Completed 

HIGHLIGHTS: We headed off to Alaska with Gary, Deb, John, Tracey, Adrian & Stella. Starting in Anchorage we hired no frills campers and headed off around the Yukon trail then up the Dempster Highway to Inuvik at the top of the world. After returning to Anchorage we went to the Kenai Peninsula  fishing for Salmon and viewing grizzly bears in the wild. Lenore & Myself then flew to LA where we hired a car and travelled some of Route 66 to the Grand Canyon. WOW to the whole adventure!!

October/November/December – Across Australia

Lenore & Myself plus Gary & deb headed across Australia on a huge road trip.
HIGHLIGHTS: We left Forster late September and head through NSW to Camerons corner where we linked up with the Strezleki track to the Plenty highway and across the centre to Alice Springs, Uluru and Kings Canyon. From there we headed across the middle to Geraldton and down to the Margaret River area. Here we met with Jenny & Stu for the Cape to Cape Walk. 
 We then explored Cape Le Grande & Cape Arid National Park before heading across the Nullarbor to SA and spending time in the Eyre Peninsula and Flinders Ranges.  We then headed for Broken Hill in NSW & home. What a journey – THE BEST.


May/June – Europe including Abu Dhabi, Paris, London then Ireland, Italy (Cinqe Terra, Luca, Roma) Greece (Athena, Mykonos, Paros, Santorini & Ios)
HIGHLIGHTS: The whole thing
September/October – A journey along the famous Silk Road – Starting in Uzbekistan (Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent) Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek, Lake Issik Kul) Kazakstan (Almaty) then flight to China (Urumqi, Turpan, Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, Lanzhou, Xian. about 6,500Km of history in one amazing adventure.
October – After the Silk Road Lenore and myself spent a couple of weeks travelling on the old southern Silk Road which linked the tea trade with China & Europe. A stop at Chengdu to see the Pandas then into Yunnan Province to Lijiang, Shangri La, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Dali & Kunming before Home
HIGHLIGHTS: The Pandas at the research & breeding Centre in Chengdu – probably the laziest, cutest animal on earth. Population has grown from 6 in the 70’s to 146 today. What a success – good onya China!!
